Matco Financial
Free · No obligation · 60 minutes

See your financial future on one page.

A one-page financial snapshot that shows where you are today, where you're headed, and what's standing in the way. Built by a Matco financial planner in a 60-minute conversation.

Book Your Free Snapshot

You've built real wealth. But do you have a plan — or just a collection of accounts?

Most successful people have the pieces: an RRSP here, a TFSA there, maybe a corporate account, some real estate, a group plan from work. But nobody has sat down and connected them into a single picture that answers the only question that matters: am I going to be okay?

A financial plan doesn't have to be a 60-page binder you never open. It can be a single page that shows your net worth, your income sources in retirement, your gaps, and what to do about them. That's what the snapshot is.

What the snapshot covers

Your entire financial picture. One conversation.

01
Net worth summary
Everything you own and everything you owe — across all accounts, entities, and properties — organized into one clear view.
02
Retirement projection
Based on your current savings rate, portfolio value, and expected spending — when can you retire, and how much can you spend? A clear yes-or-no answer.
03
Income map
Where your retirement income will come from: CPP, OAS, pensions, RRSP/RRIF withdrawals, TFSA, corporate dividends, rental income. Mapped by year.
04
Tax structure review
Are your assets in the right accounts? Is income splitting optimized? Could you save tax by restructuring how you hold your investments? We'll flag the opportunities.
05
Insurance & estate gaps
Do you have enough life insurance? Is your will current? Are beneficiary designations correct? Are your corporate succession documents in place? We'll identify what's missing.
06
Your one-page snapshot
After the conversation, you receive a written one-page summary: where you stand, what's working, what needs attention. Yours to keep whether or not you become a client.
How it works

Three steps. One hour of your time.

1
Book a time
Pick a 60-minute slot. We can meet by phone, video call, or in person at our Calgary office.
2
Send us the basics
Before the meeting, we'll ask you to share recent investment statements, a rough estimate of your income and expenses, and any planning documents you have (will, insurance policies, pension statements). This lets us prepare and use our time together well.
3
Get your snapshot
We'll walk through your financial picture together — what's working, what's not, and where the biggest opportunities are. Within a week, you'll receive your written one-page snapshot by email.

Want to know where you actually stand?

Book Your Free Snapshot
This is for you if
You earn well but aren't sure if you're saving enough or in the right places
You're 5–15 years from retirement and want to know if you're on track
You have a professional corporation and aren't sure how to coordinate personal and corporate finances
Your financial plan is outdated or you've never had one done properly
You have $500K+ in investable assets across multiple accounts with no coordinated strategy
You want an honest assessment from someone who doesn't already manage your money
This is not for you if
You're looking for a one-time plan with no follow-up or ongoing relationship
You want investment-only management with no financial planning
You're primarily looking for the lowest possible fees regardless of service level

At Matco, financial planning and portfolio management are integrated — that's how we deliver the most value. If you're looking for planning alone without investment management, we may not be the best fit, but we're happy to point you in the right direction.

What this isn't.

Not a 60-page binder
You won't receive a document nobody reads. You'll get one page that tells you what you need to know and what to do about it.
Not a product pitch
We won't recommend products or ask you to move your money. The snapshot is about understanding your situation — what you do with that understanding is up to you.
Not a software demo
This isn't a MoneyGuide or a robo-plan. It's a human being with 30+ years of experience looking at your numbers and giving you an honest assessment.
Not a one-and-done
The snapshot is a starting point. If you decide to work with Matco, it becomes the foundation for an ongoing plan that evolves as your life changes.
Common questions

Before you book.

How is this different from a portfolio review?
A portfolio review looks at your investments — what you hold, what you're paying, and whether your allocation makes sense. The financial snapshot is broader: it looks at your entire financial life — income, savings, taxes, insurance, estate, retirement projections — and puts it all on one page. Many clients do the snapshot first, then the portfolio review as a natural second step.
Is this really free?
Yes. No cost, no obligation. You'll receive the one-page snapshot whether or not you decide to work with us. We do this because it's the best way for both sides to determine if there's a fit — and because the snapshot itself demonstrates the value of working with a planner.
What information do I need to provide?
Recent investment statements, a rough sense of your income and major expenses, and any planning documents you have (will, insurance policies, pension statements, corporate financials). Don't worry if you don't have everything — we'll work with what you can share.
Who will I be meeting with?
Jason Vincent or one of our senior team members — the same people who would work with you as a client. Not a junior associate, not a call centre.
I already have a financial advisor. Can I still do this?
Absolutely. Many people who request a snapshot already have an advisor. A second set of eyes often catches things that have been overlooked — particularly around tax structure and estate planning. There's no requirement to switch.
What happens after I receive the snapshot?
It's yours. If you'd like to discuss next steps or explore what a full planning and investment relationship looks like, we'll schedule a follow-up conversation. If you don't, that's completely fine — no calls, no pressure, no drip campaigns.

"Most people come in thinking their finances are complicated. They usually are — but not in the ways they expect. The snapshot cuts through the noise and shows you exactly where you stand. In 30 years, I've never had someone walk away from this conversation without learning something important about their own money."

You don't need more information. You need a picture.
